Adopt & adapt

Adopt: to take someone else’s child into your home and legally become its parent

Adapt: to gradually change your behavior and attitudes in order to be successful in a new situation

Amoral & immoral

Amoral : having no moral standards at all

For example: a completely amoral person

Immoral : morally wrong

For example: It’s immoral to be rich while people are starving and homeless

Amoral :  بدون احساس مسئولیت اخلاقی     /   Immoral : غیراخلاقی

Amount & number

Amount : a quantity of something such as time , money , or a substance

For example: a considerable amount of money

Number : a word or sign that represents an exact amount or quantity

For example: a hundred pounds is a good round number

Anecdote & antidote

Anecdote : a short , amusing true story is an anecdote

For example: the book is full of amusing anecdotes about his life in japan

Antidote: a substance that stops the effects of a poison

For example:  there is no known antidote to a bite from this snake

Apart & a part

Apart: if things are apart , they are not close to each other or touching each other

For example: the police try to keep rival supporters apart at all matches

Appraise & apprise

Appraise:  to officially judge how successful , effective , or valuable something is

Apprise : to tell or give someone information about something

For example: the district chairman was fully apprised of all details

Assistance & assistants

Assistance : help or support

For example: we offer financial assistance to students

Assistant : someone whose job is just below the level of manager

For example: the emergency room assistants were ready to help anyone who came through the door

Assistance : کمک کردن یا پشتیبانی کردن    / Assistant : دستیار

Assure & ensure

Assure : if you assure your boss that you’ll finish your project by Tuesday , you make a promise or commitment to have it done by Tuesday.

For example:  the document is genuine , I can assure you

Ensure: when you ensure that something will happen , you guarantee it.

For example: all that homework will ensure that you have no time for fun this afternoon
